The Concept Of Everything

I write about a variety of subjects, often seemingly unrelated.  My experience, and the experience of all of us if we choose to look at it, shows that this is not the case.  In fact, everything is related.

I love to read.  Shakespeare, History, sociology, philosophy, religion, Spirituality, non-fiction, horror, romance, fairy tales, classics…  there is very little that I haven’t at least tried once or twice, and usually much more than that.  I absorb information like a sponge absorbs water.  I do the same thing with movies, theater, art, dance, music, anything I can.  I enjoy the stories on their own, but more than that, I love finding the connections, the things that show what makes us humans, what makes us, us.

Everything is a reflection of everything else.  To understand a society, you must look at it’s history, it’s archaeology, it’s religion, it’s political makeup.  But to understand, for example, it’s religion, you need to understand all of the above.  The history of each society is the sum of the experiences of each individual, and as a group. And each society has far more similarities than not.

At the core, each society  has the same stories, the same faith, the same political history.  Only the trappings are different.  One society may reflect their experiences based on a harsh, dry climate where resources are scarce.  Another may reflect abundance.  And their stories, their traditions, archaeology and religions will reflect those.  As a worldwide society has that advanced from living in caves to having modern conveniences, or political structure has not changed much either.  We are still electing who we perceive as strongest, who we think will protect us, provide the best for us, or “the greatest warrior of our tribe”.

As we examine the Everything of other societies, we realize that we are also looking into the Everything of ourselves as individuals.  The same thoughts, concerns, worries, ideas, inspirations, passions.  The same Everything.  This is why we can’t separate one from another.  There is no separation.  And the more we realize this, the more we see our connections, however we find them, and however we perceive them, the more we realize that Everything is related.  That we are related.  And that we are Everything.

Blessed Be
