Your View of Employment and How to Make it a Miracle

Now that my new employment change is settling down and gaining a new rhythm, I feel it’s time to get a little more detailed about this change: why it happened and how I made the change with help and guidance from the Spirit.

Throughout my career I have worked in several fields, and have had contact with many different types of people, whether they were my employers, co-workers, or customers.  One of the things that I have found to be of great importance in all business dealings, is the viewpoint that you bring to the experience.

In the past, I usually had a negative view of whatever my employment was at the time, and often had a stressful, negative ending resulting in a long period of unemployment, stress and desperation which created or added to an extremely stressful home life as well.

The difference this time is that I was able to find and maintain a much better viewpoint.  I started with a stable, peaceful home life, and was able to recognize the extreme stress from my old place of employment.  I realized that under the conditions I was working in, it would not be possible to maintain my peace of mind at home, and I needed to affect a change.  I began to meditate, pray and set my intention for the type of job that I needed:  I needed a new challenge that would not be sedentary, I needed something with variety,  I needed a job that would work with not only my family’s schedules, but also the schedule at the chapel where I perform weddings, and I needed a job where the stress levels would not be so nearly as high as the job I was in.  Not a small feat to find a job to meet those requirements.  I started to keep my eyes open for possibilities.  Over the course of a few months, I saw a few openings, but none of them seemed right.  Suddenly after about three months, a possibility opened up, and I submitted my application.  After two weeks, I was still the only candidate with the skills and experience for the position, and was hired less than a week later.

Once I submitted my two weeks notice, my former employer terminated me 24 hours later.  Spirit provided me with a job that met exactly what I needed, and a vacation at the same time!

For centuries, we as a society have been living in a system that told us how to work, what to do, and how to do it.  This method is no longer working for us.  But for  us to change how we do things as a society we must first change our perspective, our viewpoint as individuals.  We must begin to work with the Spirit to find the employment that is best for us.  And we need to not be afraid to make a change.  The Spirit will guide us.  All we have to do is be willing.
