Movie Messages

The other night, my family and I went to the movies.  This doesn’t happen often, and it’s usually a pretty big movie.  This time was no different, and we all had a great time.  And while the movie itself was pretty impressive, what impressed me more was the amount of messages in the movie.

This is a subject I think about often.  Most of us can verbalize that we know messages are in movies.  But how many of us acknowledge the actual messages in the movie?

When we go to the movies, we go to have fun and be entertained.  We also go to escape the problems in our daily lives.  And it’s ok to forget about things for awhile.  Sometimes we all need a break.  But when we leave that movie, if we remember the message we received, and act upon it accordingly, we could change the world.

Some movies that have incredible messages to me are:

  • Star Wars
  • Avatar
  • The Butterfly Effect
  • Idiocracy
  • American Beauty
  • What Dreams May Come
  • V For Vendetta

These are just a few of the movies that have had a profound effect on me.  I can also find messages in music, commercials, just about anywhere.

It is ok to escape for awhile to gain strength to deal with the problems.  But in the process, try to make sure you don’t miss the messages.  In them you may find the answer to your problems.
