It’s been a rough couple of weeks, with more less-than-thrilling surprises, upheavals and changes than I could ever have expected. I’ve seen drama, incredible strength through profound grief, was able to provide a gift I never expected to be accepted, and more.
Change is a natural part of the cycle of life. We are only here for a brief speck in the totality of history. Yet in those few years of our lives, our speck of time is our chance to guide those changes. It is a great responsibility, and each of us must learn use that time wisely. One choice, one chance, one second, can create a change that will reverberate throughout history.
Change is not comfortable. It’s not meant to be, or it wouldn’t be change. Neither is it about circumstances, having or not having, doing something or not doing something. Change, at its very core, is about mentality, viewpoints, perspectives and understanding. It’s about looking at things in a different way, or experiencing something different. It’s about being willing to learn something new. Without change, we would stagnate. As we accept the changes we experience, we maintain a fresh view on life, we can more easily accept changes outside our control as well.
Every day is a new transition, a new opportunity for change to present itself. I’m not always happy with the transition process, but with the help of the Spirit, I have never been unhappy with the results.
