Finding What Is Truly Important

As always, life in the Warrior’s world is never dull, and never slow. And the last week or so has been no different. Change is a natural part of living life, and there have been many in the last week or so. I have many subjects that I want to write about, but today it’s not about the lessons that are coming up.

Today, I want to spend some time talking about the holidays. As we head further into the holiday season, I feel that it is extremely necessary to maintain focus on what it truly important. Contrary to what the retail industry (and many others) would have you believe, the holidays are not about consumerism and spending money. They are not about how much you can get from everyone in your world. Nor are they about going to church for that one day of the year to praise and worship someone who may or may not have actually lived for things that he did on a birthday that isn’t actually the day he was born.

Holidays are celebrations of life. They are celebrations of renewal, a promise of life returning. They are times for family and community to come together in Love and Peace, to recognize the similarities within our cultures and environments.

This year, instead of asking your children what they want to get, try teaching them how to give. Teach them the joy and pleasure in creating something fun, something beautiful for friends and family. Show them by example how to be Loving and giving from the heart. If you go to church, teach them to act in the same fashion and the same ways as all Prophets and Teachers that have come before us have. Let them see the difference between a gift that was pre-fabricated and one created by hand with a loving heart.

This year, I wish all of you Love and Peace, blessings for a new and prosperous year. But what I wish most of all, is that we all stand together as Warriors, that we all become the best example that we can be.

Blessed Be.
